The Nomadic Scroll
Volume III~December 1, 2007
Greetings From the Administration
Peace Poets,
November is now gone, and the new year is on the horizon! We hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving, and that Santa brings something to all those naughty and nice! The past month brought many things... 5 new members, Po and Poet of Pain came in dropping bombs, hopefully you other 3 will bless us soon! Our very own Marston performed on stage for the first time, and with Saul Williams no less! You can see him perform that very piece as it is The Oasis Spoken Word of The Month, and can read about the whole experience "Under The Shade Tree". We had 3 anniversaries Ol' Skool & His Bride celebrated their 2nd year, Mr. & Mrs. Arcelay celebrated their 2nd year, while Kirsten and I celebrated our 3rd year of marital bliss! It brought birthdays to our Scorpios Po, Illusions, Bythewurd, and Intellectual Freak. Unfortunately it also brought some of us sickness and Writer's Block... All in all we were blessed with 30 days and 30 nights... Enjoy the next 31 days as it will mark the end of 2007. Make them count!
Peace and Blessings,
Hidden Poetress & WlkWlk3 (Administrators)

Congratulations Marston! Your work is phenomenal, and speaks to the heart, as well as the mind!
Below is Marston's favorite original poem,''within our pockets time hides, and peers through holes in dear lizers eyes...". Pulled from his pen for our poetic pleasure. Enjoy Fam...
If times a must
Then put it in your pocket for another day
And rest easy
For the hole in your pocket has been adorned
Upon the tail of Ouroboros
And as time lingers beneath the eyes, wings and rays of Horus
He watches
And observes time
Float by
But be warned
The black whole within your mind
Should not be taken for granted
For that is where
Time
Stops
Do not hide in the shadows of time
Do not hide in the shadows of minds
Minds blown from unperturbed consciousness
A state of inane you subsist
Ferociously consigned
To idiosyncratic non-minds
All marching
In broken unsung rhyth-HYMNS
In HARM-ony
Gibbering toy soldiers
Ambling blind
Lost
In time
As the spirit breaks
Shattered features of hope dance
Upon a breeze in the moonlit beams
Of tomorrows forsaken past
And gently rest
Within the eyes of lost emancipation
I see eagles born flying
On forever winds of timeless ignorance
Soaring existentially upon a hope once pursued
But attained?
No!
For some hopes fly freely from forsaken freefalls
For it is fear that dwells within those flurries of un-fortitude
Realize
And fall calmly towards the indigo seas
And crystal shores
Of newly born’s
And old creak sound wooden doors
Carved from ancient redwood trees
In the eyes of native hallucinogenic tepee reveries
For even they can foresee
That we are not as free a wind
As a wind should freely be
But from the dust of a thousand suns
Burning embers glow in crimson dreams
Awaiting awakening
From a breeze
Surreptitiously stolen from times unyielding grasp
And sprinkled from sunlit streams of thought
Illuminating young burgeoning ideologies
Hoping
To be caught
Within the new winds gaze
Exhalation
I talk breath down and slay it for my own use
My lips close
An inescapable noose
Until time looks the other way
And then
Release
Blowing scorching flames
Through firestorm frames of mind
Enlightened lyrics of lullabies ride
Upon the back of our united wind
For we are 6 billion butterflies
Un-pinned
All fluttering in the same direction
Towards the frightened and un-hinged
For it is that true evil
Fear
We rescind
They have no wind left to keep them adrift
So we embrace them as they fall
Opening their minds to timeless chimes
Of understanding
Through insight
We provoke End Times
But new beginnings
Under the ancient soaring redwood trees
We stand tall
So
If times a must
Then put it in your pocket for another day
And live
For living
Takes no time
At all...

I Dream In Black And White: by Po
[IMG
[/IMG]and your mother prefers, calliope but
this morning the sun curved into itself and
sleep offered its whole quintessence to your
drowsy bones, while i thought, cause you'd taught me
to think in metaphors, that it must have weighed
on those slender shoulders like make believe planets
and so you were, lady atlas
and twilight shown mandarin and rouge
through the slants of your eyes
is when i knew i was a crystal ball
world away from the bricks
their pissy corridors
broken glass gardens and
syringe littered
playgrounds
this was some kind of abbreviated utopia
and pieris was
where manicured strange
crept up my spine like
climbing vines
and afterwards, i understood
fingertips to be underrated
and your lips as liquid solid candy, giving away
something in heavy whispers about the moon
scissors, starch and papier-mâché i think
cause you wanted to make snowflakes
for the window that would hold up
against livid winter winds
like maybe two novembers past
and after all this tyme
i still make limited eye contact
reaching for the right shyt to say
-- a throat-full of verbal forget-me-nots --
or what have you
not exactly, neruda however
though usually af(flow)ent
with sweet talk
imagine that...
a so-called rhapsodist
at a loss for words
while, the way you tie my tongue in knots
and all but disregard my misguided jones
makes for bittersweet reveries only
and still i drift
uncomplicated really
when the uninhabited hub of my
mottled mind's eye, is the only place
you love me back
only place the protective rind around your heart
can be peeled like tropical fruit
divulging the pulpy flesh of your unspoken needs
... gauze removed from a clumsily treated wound
where the remedy in my kiss
is ultimately all the first-aid your
impairments call for
though there ain't nothing poetic about
this one-sided relationship
and so i've promised myself
i won't wait any longer for you
than the rest of my life
an arduous secret i keep with empathetic apparitions
season after deafeningly songless season
funny, cause someone said
"poets fall in love to write about it"
but my will is weak, period
and my falling in wasn't by design
when this article was basically recorded
all of our lives ago
even if somewhere along the lines
chance revised the most significant passages
... matrimony meant for me
moreover, miracle babies with my eyes
and grandparents' god-given names
as their seconds
with that, i'm the lovable loser again
wondering if realigning the stars is the only way to
paraphrase tyme gone by in favor of
what's meant to be infinite
in the meanwhile, don't be surprised
when next i reach to recite the sonnet etched
across the casing of my weatherbeaten soul
signed, yours evermore
an alluring ode with your name as its title
i will have netted the feral band of belly butterflies
that ostensibly elevate nerves and inhibitions
and clipped their spirited wings
waiting for fate, with ninety nine verses memorized
as summer sweet as watermelon slices
all about you...
