Crash
I stand here empty from pouring everything I am into you
You stand there filled up
[tell me how it feels to be fulfilled]
Emptiness beckons me to her side and I run with open arms
Slain away in yesterdays pain
I’m moving in slow motion
Though the road markings are flying past me
120 miles per hour and I seem to have forgotten how to slam on the brakes
Before the emergency bag implodes
Blows up in my face
As I pull myself out from beneath your wreckage
[Using the jaws of life]
I look back and realize the flashing lights
Where the indication of the tumultuous road ahead
Move any further and you’ll surely end up dead
[death sounds sweetly depicted]
The wreckage of you
Reflects the pretty in me
I hear the emergency vehicles roaring their flashing lights
Helps on it’s way they seem to scream, lying in my head
Invitation to deaths shallow grave
Has me contemplating weather to give up this act of breathing
How did things end up this way
I’ve always loved the thrill of the chase
And you made it easy to get carried away
I loved the speed in which I was traveling down this road
Running through red lights
Somehow you made me feel it was alright
To go full speed ahead
Not with you,
I thought you were different
I thought we were invincible to the speed
The chase ended
When you refused to catch me
I looked in my rearview mirror
Expecting to see you there
I never expected to see
The road closed ahead sign
I never expected the crash
I never expected death
I never expected you’d let me go
Down this road alone
Now as I try to lift myself up
And try to make my legs work again
I’m saddened by the realization
that you never were my friend
You never were there for me
You just let me crash
Into the empty embankment
That once was your arms
You never protected me
From the harm
Of loving you

i beat his shango drum
stoking the flicker
of flames raging
in the warrior priest's
temple
make worship
of bronze
and molten metal
we smelt
the weapons
of civilization
preparing post-haste
to renew earth
on the eve
of his return to adam
alas
apples
and serpents
again
usurp us
as he coupled
hands and fingers
'round the root
of an
extraterrestrial
being
i saw once fertile soil
compost
compounded
on the rule of 72
form stony igneous
and scorch cities
under the effusive
flowing of lava
and the ashes
of the aftermath
held a moment
still in time
before man
was made mud

Oasis Spoken Word of the Month: I Fell In Love With a Poet
By: Sable
www.sendspace.com/file/tf9cj1
Watching his lips form my heart
and flow scribes from my insides
I
tried to hide the butterflies, but
they took flight that night
cause the story he told was my own
and
in his eyes I felt at home
and
I couldnt help but feel alone
in his presence because
there were chasms and miles
and space between us
and the people seemed content
just to hear his words,
but I
I heard his heart
and it was kindred to my soul
and I knew it would be bold
to just open up and show
him my heart
so I stayed, and watched and prayed
the stage
would hold him there
just a little longer
giving me more time to ponder
How could I fall in love with a poet
at the first stanza of his drop
Damn, his scribe was hot
and I knew if and when i retired for the eve
there would be no sleep
cause in my minds eye
he would surely creep
The end of his piece
brought me suddenly to my feet
and I snapped
my fingers, and hoped he'd linger
for a little while longer
but he didnt
he just walked away........(sigh)

[/font][/center][/u]REPORTS SAY RIHANNA WAS ALLEGED VICTIM OF ASSAULT
LOS ANGELES (AP) - We're learning more about the situation that led Chris Brown and Rihanna to miss their Grammy appearances. And now it appears it was a domestic violence claim that led to the 911 call. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Rihanna was the woman who reported to police that Brown had hurt her the night before the Grammys. The same information is being reported among a number of celebrity Web sites, but no one is saying this officially. A police report indicates the woman was injured. However, so far Brown has been booked only on suspicion of making a criminal threat, a felony. The district attorney will have to decide what charges, if any, to charge Brown with. Neither Brown nor Rihanna have issued any statements through their representatives about the incident.
Chris Brown may be a celebrity, but the head of the LAPD says he wasn't treated like one when he was arrested in connection with an assault allegation. Los Angeles Police Chief
William Bratton says Brown got no special favors either before his arrest or when he was booked. Bratton says authorities "dealt with him like we deal with everybody else." Brown was booked and was released after posting $50,000 bail. Both he and Rihanna backed out of their scheduled performances at the Grammy Awards. Producers scrambled to fill their slots on the live broadcast. The Los Angeles Times and celebrity media sites say Rihanna was the person who called the police, claiming it was Brown who assaulted her. The LAPD wouldn't confirm the reports, citing state laws that protect the identity of abuse victims.
People who deal with celebrity issues say the Chris Brown situation has the potential to damage the singer's career. And the reason it may be so difficult for Brown, is his image itself. Last week, Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps apologized for being photographed using a bong. But so far, his sponsors have pretty much stuck with him. Until word about his arrest this past Sunday, Brown had a pretty squeaky clean image. But that seems to be unraveling in the wake of his arrest on assault charges. Tracey Ford, who edits America Online's hip-hop/R&B site says fans are shocked over the allegations against Brown, especially since his career has been centered on what has been his "squeaky clean image." Adds Ford: "I don't think anyone saw this coming."
