Gather round, ladies, let me tell you the tale A story of a villain, cruel and vile Who's treachery and deceit knew no scale For his evil cannot be tabulated or compiled
The Monster Man
This is the one, who seems such a gent The very one who offers a lady his hand Helping her from a carriage while not a thought spent On anything but gaining command
While courting and wooing there can be none finer He'll spend cash on dinner, not change at a diner And while this girl and that girl fall for his charms He snuffs each heart out as they fall in his arms
The Monster Man
From the moment that a ring is placed on a finger Or a necklace or choker of diamond and lace There's no telling the girl the horrors he'll bring her Or just how far she will brutally fall to disgrace
She may as well be a slave digging her own grave For all of the harm he repays the love that she gave And still it continues mornings into the nights From arguments to shouting to pushing to fights
The Monster Man
Oh, be wary, dear ladies, I beg each of you with tears For though he's full of cowardice, many do miss That man at the end of the bar with the two empty chairs Has an end coming for his actions in the death of my sis...
I've come to kill The Monster Man...
(Little bit of a new take on Matters of the Heart. Hope ya'll like.)

I like it. Dark. Reminds me of a book I read.. and now I can't remember the name of the book.. but I really liked this. Felt like it was from a different time. Nice.

Thanks, Echo! Yeah, I had sort of a steampunk-ish setting in mind. Let me know if you can remember the name of the book!
