Greetings From the Administration
Peace Nomadic Poets,
Last month of 2008! We hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. We had a very creative month November and hope December is just as productive! The recently added Journals have been very interesting and hopefully more of you will share your thoughts. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Wilson aka the Ol' Skools', Mr. and Mrs. Arcelay aka the Spirits', and Hp & I as we all celebrated an anniversary! Also we Thank MaryJaneBurns for joining our Staff! Congratulations to AoMuse for being our newest Poet of The Month! Your work has been inspirational, thought provoking, and just amazingly written... Thank you for sharing your gift with us!
Fam, thank you all for sharing your talents with us. Each of you represent a facet of the Oasis, and it wouldn't be the same without you. We look forward to continuing to grow and create together.
Peace and Blessings,
Hidden Poetress & WlkWlk3 (Administrators)

post-ascension
have you ever
chased the muse
on a dreary gray day
through a field
feeling like she was simply
getting away
you can taste the music
on the tip of your tongue
but it just refuses to come
when you call
you can hum the melody delicately
but the words keep refusing to fall
i have chased the muse
and I keep chasing
facing escaping creativity
through my creative escape
it's like drawing a landscape barren
without any people
because the beauty alone
is not engaging enough to keep you
you want interactivity
a microphone to speak through
a voice to the world
the ear of the people
and that's why we chase
and capture Muses
trying so desperately
to reach you
whether your minutes of fame
are 15 or 50
you already know
that it has no sequel
and the feeling you get when
standing in front of the crowd
speaking aloud what the Muse
will feed you
has no Equal
because there is no sweetness
that tastes like Sugar
i've had a Muse that I was looking for
but it was pain that I mistook her for
because of the joy
that I was looking towards
when she first spoke to me
I winced
felt a pinch and pretended
the feeling didn't exist
but she persists
and even when I
acknowledged her presence
I had the nerve to act like
I was gone dictate our sessions
but the Muse just giggled
and made it clear
as I'm chasing her whisper
from ear to ear
hearing her in different hemispheres
right brain
left brain
frontal lobe
cerebral cortex
still I volunteer my vehicle
to travel through her vortex
she awakens me at 2 am
like a woman that wants more sex
and cuddles near
she orders
write this down
before I disappear
exhibit here the story
of one man's Muse
who was gifted with gab
and a place to put it to use
so each day as I'm facing the future
and embracing the truth
i will remain eternally...Chasing the Muse!

my life over the last 2 years
has been a dramedy.
blood.. sweat.. laughs.. tears
the story of course
is so silly & long
i feel wrong
for telling it
ill try to cut it crazy short.
fell in love - had my soulbroken - still in love.
heard enough?.
id like to learn to listen to my mind
for once in my f.cked off life...
but i keep following my foolish heart.
its just acuz.. i am art.
angst poetry to be exact
sick. pretty.
.sad & abstract.
& how r u?

Straight From the Headlines!!!
Flint, Michigan rapper MC Breed has died at the age of 36.
An anonymous source, reportedly a friend of the late rapper confirmed the passing of the industry veteran to AllHipHop. "He's no longer with us," the source said. "We are in the process of putting together a benefit concert, hopefully at Saint Andrews to raise money for a funeral."
He was hospitalized September 6 after suffering from a sudden kidney failure.
Born Eric Breed, he had been in the music industry for 15 years. Notable collaborations include the late 2Pac ("Gotta Get Mine), and Too Short. Breed's biggest single was "Ain't No Future in Yo Frontin'," which reached number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100.
What are your thoughts? Speak on it in Straight From The Headlines located in the Oasis Lounge.
